The St. Eugene School Commission is an advisory board that helps shape the direction of our school. The commission is made up of nine people, generally school parents, chosen from the St. Eugene community, as well as ex officio members such as the pastor, principal, two faculty representatives, and a liaison from the Home and School Association.
Roles of the school commission include public relations, budgeting, policy, and planning. School parents are invited to contact school commission members if they have questions about any of these areas. Meetings are open if any parents wish to attend.
Three new members join the commission each year, so school parents are encouraged to consider whether or not the school commission would be a good fit for them. Members of the commission should have the following characteristics:
a sense of the mission of the Church, school and our parish;
creativity and energy;
a willingness to make a commitment of time and talent;
a willingness to listen to others' viewpoints; and
the ability to relate to people and work as a team member.
